While it may seem that by requesting a book, it places it on hold for you, unfortunately, we do not place available books or other items on hold. The "Request" option will do one of two things:

  1. Transfer an item between campuses, so you don't have to travel between them to check it out. 
  2. Additionally, if an item is checked out, you may request that it be recalled and held for you by clicking the "Request" link. When the item is returned, the library will send you a notice that it is being held for you at the Circulation/Access Services Desk.

 

 

Otherwise, to get your hands on an item, take note of the call number, either by writing it down or using the text feature to send it to your phone, click the "Map It" button to find out where in the library your item is located, and then come to the Circulation/Check Out area to check it out.
