The FIU Libraries do not have 3D printers at this time. However, the Engineering Manufacturing Center at FIU's College of Engineering and Computing does have a 3D printer available for use to all FIU students for a fee. (Cost will vary depending on the item to be printed.) For more information, call the Engineering and Manufacturing Center at 305-348-6557 or visit the center in EAS 2430.
Two additional 3D printers are available at the Advanced Materials Engineering Research Institute's "Make-It Studio," also located at the Engineering Center. For more information, contact the Advanced Materials Engineering Research Institute at 305-348-3608 or email them. (Thanks to Neal Ricks for providing this information.)
- In addition, the Advanced Materials Engineering Research Institute at the Engineering Center has recently opened its new "Make-It Studio" with two high performance 3D printers, a high definition stereo lithography printer, and a high resolution 3D scanner. It is staffed and open for business!
