If an item is checked out, you have a number of options.

First, you can use the "Request" link under the due date of the item to place a hold on the item or request a copy from a participating state university library via UBorrow .  

If you choose to place a hold, you will receive a notification via email when the item is available to check out. You can indicate which campus you prefer to pick up the item when placing the request.

To place a hold:

1. Find the book in the Catalog.

2. Click on the Request link under the due date.

3. Log in to your account.

4. Select a Pickup Location.

5. Click on Place Request.

If the book is available at a different campus library, you can have the copy transferred to your home campus via Intercampus Loan. To transfer a book, follow the same steps listed above and select your home library.

If no copies are available at FIU, you can check to see if other libraries have the item.

Try UBorrow to obtain a copy from another state university library, or try InterLibrary Loan.

You can also check Worldcat to search local and worldwide libraries.
