When will the library reopen for Fall 2020?

The Green Library and Hubert Library will open on Monday, August 24.

What will be the hours?

The Library hours will be Monday through Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Will reservations be needed?

Access to the Libraries for students will be by reservation in 2-hour time blocks.

  •  10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  •  1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  •  4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 *The hour in between time slots has been designated for sanitation

Where will we be able to study?

Students will be able to reserve a seat or computer on the 2nd floor at GL.
At HL, seating will be available on the 1st floor, and computers available in the ASKCenter on the 2nd floor.

How are you keeping the library safe during the Coronavirus Pandemic?

Capacity will be significantly lower than normal to ensure physical distancing. There will be a one hour gap between reservation periods to allow time for Custodial Services to clean and sanitize the spaces.

Are there any policy updates?

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK in the libraries (including closed water bottles or drinks with lids)!!!!
  • Study Rooms are CLOSED

How do I check out books?

The FIU Libraries has implemented a system to reserve materials form the catalog and provide contactless pickup of library materials.

How do I borrow laptops or hotspots?

Fill out the PCs for Panthers form and we will contact you when your device is ready for pickup.
