Two features on our website were updated over the winter break, but you will still be able to send article citations from PubMed to RefWorks as before. Here is what changed:

  • Our LibGuides platform was updated to a newer version, but the content in most cases remains the same, though updated. The PubMed LibGuide, for example, includes all the same content as before, but updated and modified to a more user-friendly design: You can access PubMed from this guide as well as a page with instructions on how to use PubMed with RefWorks.
  • The "Find It @ FIU" icons from databases such as PubMed now take you directly to an article, skipping the intermediate "pick a link" step that was previously in place. Below are screenshots of the new process. (Prior to the steps shown in the screenshots, I accessed PubMed through our LibGuides, searched for my topic, and clicked on an article.)
    1. Nothing in PubMed has changed. Click on the "Find It @ FIU" icon as before.
    2. Previously, when you clicked on the icon you would be taken to an intermediate page where you would have to click "Get Article." Now you are taken directly to the article. However, note that all the same features from before are still available, including the "Export to RefWorks" option - they are now on the right of the screen.
